The nominations for the 2017 Audio and Radio Industry Awards (ARIAS) have been revealed ahead of the prestigious awards ceremony to be held on October 19th at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
RepComms will once again be organising the press pen and all PR for the awards at the red-carpet event, which was attended last year by the likes of the The Kaiser Chiefs, Grammy-award winning artist, Gregory Porter and presenters and DJs including Nick Grimshaw and Sara Cox. Organised by The Radio Academy and supported by LeedsBID (Leeds Business Improvement District), the ARIAS are the industry’s flagship awards, recognising talent, innovation and excellence across the entire audio and radio industry. A total of 23 awards are up for grabs, including new categories for this year of Best New Presenter and Best New Show/Podcast, both sponsored by Arqiva.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills, with live performances from artists and bands, yet to be announced.
ARIAS Chair of Judges, Phil Riley commented: “I’m thrilled that year two of the ARIAS has seen such growth, with so many judges commenting on the terrific quality and creativity of the entries.
