RepComms joins committee for #RadFest18

RepComms’ Lucy Goodwin has once again joined the organising committee for this year’s Radio Festival (#RadFest18) to be staged at the British Library on May 15th.

Lauren Laverne, broadcaster and BBC Radio 6 presenter, will host this year’s Festival, the annual celebration of all things audio from the Radio Academy, which brings together leading figures and experts from across the media and UK audio industry.

An all-star line-up has been announced for the event, including?Gillian Reynolds, radio critic for The Sunday Times; Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell and musician and broadcaster, Cerys Matthews.

Also appearing on the bill will be the BBC’s Vanessa Feltz, Nigel Farage, ex-leader of UKIP and now host at LBC, and Julia Hartley Brewer, breakfast show presenter and broadcaster at talkRADIO.

Other sessions at #RadFest18 include former Labour Party leader, Ed Miliband and award-winning radio host Geoff Lloyd recording the latest edition of their award-winning podcast, Reasons to be Cheerful. Experts from Amazon, the BBC and research company, Sparkler will take a look at the future of voice-activated-listening and Radio Academy’s highly successful 30 Under 30 initiative will be showcasing some of the industry?s future stars.

The Radio Academy’s #RADFEST18 will form part of the inaugural Radio Audio Week, a weeklong celebration of the UK’s radio and audio industries, which runs from May 14-19.
